Baby Talk

Today, she said "dada" for the first time! After many attempts and erased videos, we were able to finally catch it on camera.

She loves playing with our phones, especially when we get a call and they ring and light up.

Tissue Paper

Here she's playing with some tissue paper from one of Miriam's presents (it was her birthday saturday). This is Ruth (Miriam's sister) and Heath (Ruth's boyfriend). Kenzie really enjoyed ripping the paper to shredds!

Here she is tearing another piece off. It was so cute, she made a "warrior cry" every time she pulled the paper apart.

Meeting a cat

We went to Houston this weekend and stayed with Miriam (one of our friends there). This is the only cat that was interested in Kenzie (they had several). Also, one of their dogs took it upon herself to make herself Kenzie's personal gaurd, following her around to make sure she was okay.

We surrounded her with pillows after she fell asleep

Bath Time

Now that she can sit up really well, she is having more fun during her baths! After we are all done getting her clean, we let her play for a little bit. Last time we took her swimming, she started to splash in the water some too.

She hasn't fallen asleep like this on one of us in a long time.

Lily and Kenzie

Kenzie was trying so hard to get Lily's attention--she was smilling and "talking" to her, but Lily was just ignoring her .. I think she thinks that if she pretends that Kenzie doesn't exist, then Kenzie will stop pulling her fur out and disappear.

Clean baby

I know you can't really see her face very well in this one, but she had this cute little devil grin on, like she knew I was trying to get her to look at me for the picture but was being silly..Anyway, this was after a bath today.

Rattles

This video is of her playing with some plastic rattles .. She really had fun with them, but she kept banging them on her knees and her knees were starting to turn red, so we took them away from her.

We gave her this one instead (it's a stuffed animal with a rattle attached, so it still makes lots of noise, but is mostly soft)

Kisses

She's started giving kisses (well, baby kisses, with her mouth wide open). She'll put her hands on your face and pull you almost all the way to hers and then wait with her mouth open for you to give her kisses. It's pretty sweet!

Laundry

I sat her in the basket while I was making my bed, and what do you know, she actually liked sitting in there! Silly baby ...

Mobile Baby

We had her on this quilt rolling around and playing with her toys while I put her laundry up ... I left her room for less than a minute to put something away, and when I came back, she had squirmed and rolled her way off the quilt and under her crib.
She sure was proud of herself!

Sleep or Play?

She was keeping me company while I did my dishes, talking and making noise banging her rings on the tray. Then out of nowhere, the noise stopped, I looked over, and she was fast asleep.

She's starting to learn to hold her own bottle (this one has detachable handles), and she's getting pretty good at it.
She's so cute when she concentrates
She finally got tired of working so hard to get the right parts in her mouth, and decided to just try to eat whichever part was easiest to get to her mouth at the end.

Road Trip

This is what she did in the car most of the way to (and from) Houston. When we got to Houston, I left my camera in our bag and forgot about it until we were packing up to go home, so we didn't get any other pictures.
