She's starting to lean against the sides and pull up in her playpen. When we press our hands against the mesh sides, she puts her hands on our. She likes to have her hands tickled through the mesh, also. So far though, she hasn't squashed her face against the mesh yet (Megan used to make faces against the side of her playpen when she was a baby).
This is how I find her almost anytime I rescue her from her crib after a nap or a night's sleep.. About half the time though, she's bending at almost a 90-degree angle at the waist, with her arms holding onto the railing way abover her head, about to topple over. Enjoying her new view from her crib...
Here's a video of her "walking" with Dustin. Her new thing is to yell at things (today at the store, she was staring down some huge Halloween figures and yelling at them to put them in their place). We got her on video walking around and yelling, we think just for the sake of yelling. She can be pretty loud!
Here's she eating some pasta pieces. I mixed it into her baby food first, but then decided to let her eat it with her fingers. She got it everywhere, but had a lot of fun. And she's getting a lot better at feeding herself!
She's pulling up more often now (here she is at her changing table) She was momentarily distracted ... ... but then decided that throwing her blankets off the table was much more fun ... ... so we cleaned the shelf off so that she can play on it.
One of her new favorite activities: pulling all of her diapers off of the organizer, and opening every single one of them. She also likes to crumple them up and chew on them.
Monica, Aaron, and Wyatt came back to Dallas for a surprise visit last week! Kenzie was excited to see him. It won't be long before he's big enough for them to play together.
Here's a longer video of her crawling. She's getting better, but is still pretty slow about it, which is wonderful because it gives us a little more time to get used to her new mobility before she is gone in the blink of an eye.
This is right after she pulled up on my knee (she hasn't started pulling up on furniture or anything else yet, mainly just will use our hand or knee to pull herself up). She started to tumble forward just as I was taking the picture. Still needs to work on her balance a bit! She can also get into a sitting position on her own now!
One of Jaiy's friends (Jenny) had these Pooh stuffed animals from her twins, and since they have out grown them, she passed them down to us. Mackenzie really liked them! Here she is talking to Tigger ... They are bigger than she is! They made fantastic barriers that she couldn't crawl over As usual, she goes for the tags to chew on... She really enjoys playing with them!
